The Danish National Girls Choir is a permanent ensemble under the patronage of HE The Countess Alexandra Christina of Frederiksborg. One critic describes its sound this way: “The girls’ singing is beautiful and pure, with a contagious joy for music that reaches all the way down to the back row in the hall”.
Accomplished choral leader Michael Bojesen became Principal Conductor in 2001, launching a new and exciting era with a stronger focus on uniting traditional Nordic music with contemporary forms. The choir rehearses almost daily and performs more than 60 concerts at home and abroad every year, so expect an ensemble at the very top of its form.
Their program will include classical Nordic repertoire, including some traditional Danish songs.
See them at Christ Church Cathedral 690 Burrard Street, Vancouver on August 11, 2008. Tickets are $24 for adults. View their website
