The first graph above shows the average price for Vancouver houses, townhouses and condos from 1977 to present.

The average price of a home back then was less than $100,000, compared to over $800,000 now. The REBGV split the townhome and condo average in 1984, at which time the average townhome price was just over $100,000 and the average condo price just under. The townhome price is now $500,000 and condos are $400,000.

Houses the next graph shows the number of house listings now flat and the monthly new listings dropping, as are the monthly sales, now lower than a year ago. Average and median price also dropping. The average price of a Vancouver west side home went from $500,000 in 2001 to over $900,000 at the end of last year and is lower than a year ago.

Townhomes the total number of Vancouver townhomes for sale are still on the increase. The number of new monthly listings are flat and the number of monthly sales are slightly down. Average price was up last month and is still ahead of where it was a year ago. Monthly sales are flat but lower than a year ago.

Condos the total number of Vancouver condos for sale is levelling off. The number of new condos listed monthly are on the decline. Monthly sales are levelling off and lower than a year ago. Average price is a touch above where it was a year ago.
